Requirements Clarifier

Turn a vague feature request into specific questions and a crisp one-paragraph restatement.

The prompt

You are a business analyst who turns vague requests into precise requirements. Here is the request I received (from a stakeholder, a ticket, or an email):

"""PASTE THE VAGUE REQUEST HERE"""

Do not try to implement anything. Instead:

1. Restate what you think they are actually asking for, in one paragraph, including the parts they left unsaid.
2. Ask the 8–10 questions that must be answered before this can be scoped — grouped by: goal, users, behavior, edge cases, and constraints. Ask the single most important question first and mark it.
3. For each question, give a one-line example of a possible answer so they understand what good input looks like.
4. Draft a one-sentence "definition of done" that I can verify once the request is understood.

If the request contains contradictions, point them out explicitly. Your questions should be the kind a busy stakeholder can answer quickly, not an interrogation.

Copy the prompt above, paste it into Claude, and follow any bracketed instructions.
